Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne Perfume Review

I have to admit that, when I first received a sample of Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne Perfume, I wasn’t expecting to like it. In the bottle, it smelled like a very heavy floral “Grandmother-ish” scent. Yet, after seeing it featured in several magazines as a great perfume for fall, I wanted to give it a shot. Because of the strong scent, I decided to try it out on a day when I didn’t have much planned. That way, I wouldn’t have to go through my work day smelling like an older woman or having my co-workers question the strong scent. I ended up really liking the perfume. It was strong at first but, after 15 minutes or so, it faded to a light scent that was floral, fruity, and musky all at once. The key notes in Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne Perfume are blackberry, damask rose, and sandalwood. They all stand out on their own in this perfume while, at the same time, blending together perfectly.

A lot of the reviews that I read seemed to either fall in the love it or hate it category. While everyone has different skin chemistry, and what smells great on some people isn’t so great on others, I think that YSL Parisienne is worth trying. It’s not necessarily a perfume that I would have purchased for myself, and it’s not going to replace my two favorite scents (Britney Spears’ Curious and L for L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani), but I will wear it in the future. It’s a very romantic scent that is perfect for fall.
