Top Fashion Labels Don’t Want to Dress Heidi Montag

One of the perks of being a celebrity (whether it’s D-List or A-List) are the items that are handed out. Every promoter wants these young starlets photographed with their products and their designs. Word on the street is that tabloid favorite and star of MTV’s The Hills Heidi Montag is having a hard time in the fashion world. Okay, so this post borders a bit more on celebrity gossip but, since it also has to do with fashion I figured I’d squeeze it in. Apparently Audrina Patridge and Lauren Conrad who also star in the reality show are regularly sent designer duds of all price points and for all occasions. This helps to explain why those two girls always look so cute and stylish in photos.
However, apparently the same Top Fashion Labels Don’t Want to Dress Heidi Montag because of her public image. Montag is probably best know for her cheesy public photo opps. with boyfriend Spencer Pratt and her “music” career and publicists say that this is a large part of why she is overlooked by designers. “They don’t want their stuff on Heidi, even despite the fact that she is very media-friendly and is photographed a lot,” the rep said. “It’s just not the caliber of celebrity most clients go for.”
I find it interesting that Heidi Montag is being overlooked by so many designers considering that she is photographed just as much as the other girls, but I can understand how the image of a person can effect their appeal. What do you think? Should Heidi stick to promoting her own clothing line Heidiwood? If you were a designer, would you care if your items were seen on her?

If I was a designer, I wouldn’t dress any of them, least of all Lauren Conrad. They are boring & talentless IMO. They only got a TV show for being wealthy already, so let them buy their own damn clothes.
Paris Hilton has always gotten flack for being an airhead, but you can tell it’s just her image and she is actually intelligent – same as Jessica Simpson, who uses it as a branding tool as well. The Hills girls always seem the opposite to me. LC speaks as though she could be intelligent, but I think that’s just part of the script.
I think it’s Heidi’s fault that she gave herself that rep… even if The Hills is scripted. Her line is a little sleezy and cheap looking as well just like her image so I wouldn’t dress her if I was a designer.
I wouldn’t want to have her wearing my designs either if I was a fashion designer. She reminds me of trailer trash for some reason. Plus I’m pretty sure she can afford her own clothes since she’s probably rich anyway. I’m not a fan of her.
I don’t know much about her or those other Hills girls, so, I don’t know if I’d dress her.
Sucks for her though, haha.
When I first read this story on TheSuperficial I cracked up! I love reading about all of Heidi and Spencer’s ridiculous stunts…I don’t really follow celebrities or anything, but those two aree just so ridiculous and cheesy, I can’t get enough of it.
If I was a designer I’d totally want Heidi wearing my clothes. She gets photographed so much, it would be awesome publicity. I can see why some established brands might not want to get her image attached to them, but fledgling brands should be jumping all over Heidi.
Well, big money is involved so if the celebrity sux, big time company won’t give a damn.

honestly, i’d dress her.
i mean, look at how many people showed up to her clothing launch compared to lauren’s. obviously people admire her, whether she has a bad image or not. there would be significantly more people who see someone’s stuff on heidi moreso than lauren. also, heidi knows how to keep herself looking pleasant. lauren, sorry to say, typically looks like she frantically searched for something and left the house without combing her hair. i mean, yeah, she can be presentable at times, but heidi is always ready for her photo op. i think the only trashy thing about her is her plastic surgery because she had a total model figure before. her fake boobs don’t really fit her curveless frame.
