Tibi Spring 2008 Collection
Published March 1, 2008 at 4:18 pm 5 CommentsOne of the things that I most look forward to getting in my inbox are the updates from Revolve Clothing about what items have just come out. It’s not only a great way to see what’s really current for the upcoming season, but it’s also a great way to be introduced to new designers and labels that you didn’t know about before. With this e-mail, I discovered Tibi.

Full of bright colors, funky prints (my favorite being the African wildlife featured on several pieces), and feminine cuts and shapes, Tibi was created by American designer Amy Smilovic. After moving to Hong Kong in 1997, Amy decided that she wanted to start designing her own label. Now one of the largest contemporary clothing lines, Tibi can be found in over 200 specialty stores and upscale department stores worldwide. Famous fans of Tibi include Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Liv Tyler, and Reese Witherspoon.
My three favorite pieces from the Spring 2008 Tibi Collection are pictured above. I thought that the Safari Scarf Wrap Top in Blue had such an amazing print. This piece is a tradition kimono style wrap top but instead of having the stereotypical Asian inspired print on it, an African landscape print was used. It even features an elephant. Made from 100% silk, this top is sure to feel fabulous on your skin. The Orchid Peasant Dress in Black Multi features such a unique twist on the everyday floral pattern. The colors and shapes used really make this piece pop. Making it the perfect dress to through on for a night on the town when you are running late and have no time to spare for accessories. Also 100% silk, this dress is also fully lined with 100% acetate. Another item that I loved, and which also features an African landscape print, is the Safari Band Shift Dressin Blue. The Safari Band Shift Dress also comes in Pink. This dress is also 100% silk, this dress is also fully lined with 100% acetate. Honestly, I have no words to describe this dress. As far as I’m concerned, it’s flat out amazing.

I really love the middle dress in the image you put up. I love that there is the fun of items like you’d find at Forever 21 or Target but with the quality as well. I see so many bright but cheaply made pieces and just as many high quality brands that put out tons of stuffy looking clothes.
That’s what I liked too. Designers like this are obviously the inspiration for a lot of the Forever 21 and lower end items, but these have the quality. Plus, they probably look 10 times better in person than the cheaper versions.
I like the dresses, too bad I would look pregnant in them!
This style of dress is definitely made for people with smaller busts. You could always belt them though!
