The Best Casual Plaids For Fall : Inspired by Lauren Conrad
One of my favorite fall trends is plaid. Not only is plaid a great print that will never go out of style, but everything about it just reminds me of fall. One celebrity that’s been wearing a lot of plaid lately is Lauren Conrad of The Hills fame. While I’ve actually never seen the show, I do love that the girls from The Hills and related shows (with the exception of Heidi Montag) do a great job of representing the current trends and styles out there. Especially Audrina Patridge and Lauren Conrad. What I have loved most recently is how LC has incorporated casual plaid button ups into her wardrobe. So, this post is all about The Best Casual Plaids For Fall : Inspired by Lauren Conrad.

Alright, so it isn’t exactly completely casual but I couldn’t resist the Kimchi Blue Plaid Ruffle Neck Blouse. We all know that I’ve been lusting for Ruffled Blouses and this is no exception. It’d be great to wear with some dark wash skinny denim and peep toe pumps. The Urban Renewal Shrunken Flannel is quite similar to the one that Lauren Conrad is wearing (pictured center). I love that it’s a bit on the grungy side and makes me want to pull out my Nirvana vinyl albums. I’d be great with a slightly more feminine top underneath, destroyed skinny jeans, and black Converse All Star Chuck’s.

The Abercrombie & Fitch Casey Shirt is great because it’s not too casual or too dressy. It would be a great shirt to have in your closet for those days when you are short on time and need to grab something quick and go. Even with a basic tank, jeans, and flip flops, this plaid top will instantly pull your entire look together. The byCORPUS Pocket Work Shirt is a very cute and simple take on plaid tops for fall. I love that the Top Shop Farmer Check Shirt is a replica of the standard traditional plaid shirt. I love the idea of it worn over a shirt dress with slouchy boots.
I’ve already started to purchase button up plaid tops to wear this fall. Starting with the Abercrombie & Fitch shirt pictured on the left. I’m hoping to add another top or two into my wardrobe. Check out my Flickr for more fashion updates through out the fall! The idea of slipping into a plaid flannel top, skinny jeans, and my Uggs while running around with Starbucks in hand just sounds way too comfortable to be fashionable and chic. Yet, it is.
What’s great about plaid is that it can be either bold and bright or calm and understated but still have the same effect. It’s a classic and chic look that will always be around.

I swear, Lauren can make everything look so good
She is definitely one of my favorite style icons!
You look amazing in your photos
I saw them earlier today. My favorite is the one of your hair in curls. Your new top is adorable.
Thanks for your comment. It hit close to home how you mentioned your mother had to return to college, while maintaining a job and being a single mother. It’s all too familiar with me as well, especially when you mentioned the food stamps.
Fantastic post, Tash! I am loving plaid. That Kimchi ruffle blouse is adorable, and a nice change from all the other more tomboy plaids that we’re seeing around.
Your top is super cute too!
