Smashbox is Cruelty Free, Not All Vegan

Even before I decided to switch to vegan beauty products, I loved anything and everything that I tried from Smashbox. This cosmetic line is cruelty free and has a lot of vegan options.
When I e-mailed them to find out what was vegan vs just cruelty free, they asked me for specific products. So, I asked about some of my favorites from Smashbox. These are items that, in my opinion, are the must-haves from their entire line. The products that I asked about are :
- Photo Finish Foundation Primer
- Photo Finish Luminizing Foundation Primer
- High Definition Healthy FX Foundation SPF 15 in Medium M1, Medium M2, Light L3 and Light L4
- Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion
- Halo Hydrating Perfecting Bronzer
- O-Bronze Intuitive Cheek Bronzer
- Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner
Please note that I am going to add to this list over time.
Here’s the reply that I got from Smashbox :
Thank you for taking the time to contact Smashbox. I apologize for the delay in our response.
In response to your inquiry, these products do not contain animal derived ingredients.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact Smashbox. I appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns. You are valued as our consumer, and I hope you will continue to use and enjoy our products with confidence and satisfaction.
Are there any specific Smashbox products that you are curious about? Leave a comment with the product and I will include it in my next e-mail to them!

That’s great you got a response. I’d emailed them a bit back asking for ingredients lists, and after a long while they said that the ingredients are on the packaging boxes. Not very helpful for someone who shops online!
That’s really frustrating that they weren’t helpful with your request. Maybe a different person handled my request than yours.
About half the companies that I’ve contacted have provided me with lists or replied to my questions/requests to create a list. Several will only tell me that they have vegan options but won’t give me a list of what they are (one of these brands also does not list ingredients on their website or packaging). The response that I’m getting is, overall, mostly positive but is also really hit or miss.
