Product Reviews : Maybelline Superstay Silky Foundation
When I first found a sample available of Maybelline Superstay Silky Foundation I was really excited as I had heard nothing but good things about this foundation. What’s so special about this product is that the package contains liquid foundation on one side and a foundation primer on the other. You can mix the levels of each one to your liking. This will help to extend the life of your foundation during your day to avoid touch ups, meltdown, and all the other fun make up mishaps that can happen once it gets warm out. This foundation also promises 16-hour wear, without rubbing off.
Since I had heard nothing but great things about this foundation, I decided to give it a try. After all, a free sample is the best and easiest way to give new products a test drive before dropping the cash on a full size version. Personally, I was disappointed in this foundation. I applied Smashbox Photofinish Primer to my freshly cleansed and moisturized skin before the foundation, but even that didn’t help it apply smoothly. The coverage also wasn’t the greatest and it went on splotchy in some areas of my face. I actually ended up applying a light layer of another foundation over the Maybelline Superstay Silky Foundation to get the coverage that I wanted. Considering I typically wear tinted moisturizer, I can’t imagine that this foundation would provide decent coverage for those who really want it. While everyone looks for different features in their liquid foundation, and everyone’s skin reacts differently towards cosmetics, I would never buy this product. My advice is to save your cash on this product and find a free sample to test out on your skin first. On some skin types, I’m sure that it’s as great as I have heard. However, on mine, it just wasn’t cutting it.
Have you tried this foundation before? What are your thoughts on it?

With products such as liquid foundation, I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. The only thing that I have EVER successfully used is Clinique. Eyeshadows, liner, mascara, lip gloss/lip sticks – all fine to buy from the drug store. But I just have never found a liquid foundation I like that isn’t Clinique. With that being said, I’m not surprised that you didn’t like it! But then again, maybe our skin types just require something different!
I’ve never tried this foundation before. I have used Covergirl’s liquid/powder in one and I found that was one of the best drugstore brands. I’m sorry that you were so disappointed in it. I love trying new products but am always upset when one doesn’t live up to the claims it makes.
I haven’t tried this one, but your review could easily be one for Maybelline’s Mineral Power Liquid Foundation. No coverage and blotchiness. This is why I am a tinted moisturizer + bronzer fan myself.

Thanks
Like you I have heard quite a lot of good things about this product, but usually drugstore makeup doesn’t sit well with me skin =[ I’m probably going to try a sample and see if it is right for me
BTW, the NARS gloss I got is called “Striptease” and it is a very great color
I dont ever use drugstore makeup either. I use clinique usually. This makeup dont look that bad though. I just cant ever find samples in my stores here lol
Aww well that sucks really. My sister and mom uses Mac and loves it. I don’t wear make up myself so I really wouldn’t know anything about it lol. I just don’t have the patience for it. But that’s indeed some good advice and a very good consumer alert
Take care

I’ve tried it and I use it. I think it’s great. It works for me and I have 2 of them! A small tip for applying foundation if you want even coverage try to apply it with a sponge or a paper towel.
