Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 Ready to Wear

One of my favorite designers, Marc Jacobs, always does a great job of making his slightly cheaper and more accessible line Marc by Marc Jacobs stylish, trendy, and fun. This definitely cannot be said for every designer that offers these sorts of lines. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 Ready to Wear showed that this was true yet again. Full of colors and patterns, this collection also did a great job showing how to incorporate menswear pieces into your daily wardrobe. It also marks someone trying to bring the fanny pack back to life.

Derek Lam Spring 2009 Ready to Wear

One collection this spring that did a great job of showing the wearable side of the metallic trend is the Derek Lam Spring 2009 Ready to Wear collection. From hints of metallic through out a garment to full on metallic pants, the Derek Lam collection covers the whole spectrum and gives everyone an idea of how to incorporate the trend into their everyday look. The collection also featured several great mod inspired items.

Chloe Spring 2009 Ready to Wear

The Chloe Spring 2009 Ready to Wear collection was, in my opinion, one of the best vintage and retro inspired spring collections this year. It reminded me of modern day versions classic pieces from the 1960′s and early 1970′s. I loved the use of bows, loose and flowy fabrics, and all the emphasis on showing off a feminine silhouette. Sophie Vlaming for Vanity Fair February 2009

In the February 2009 issue of Vanity Fair, the piece Per Gioco displayed some of the best upcoming spring trends. With model Sophie Vlaming being photographed by Marcin Tyszk, the end result is whimsical and inspiring. I love the use of floral prints, menswear inspired items and bold colors in this piece. The styling is amazing and puts the looks together in a very interesting and unique way. While the outfits are a bit out there for most people, the shoot gives you great ideas on how to incorporate these spring trends into your look.

One of the surprise favorites of mine from this years Spring 2009 Ready to Wear runway shows was the William Rast Spring 2009 Ready to Wear collection. It’s a great mix of preppy and edgy, with something to compliment everyone’s style. I also really liked several of the mens looks, so I included those as well. To me, this collection is heavily influenced by the 1990′s grunge scene, which I am a complete sucker for. What do you think of the William Rast Spring 2009 Ready to Wear collection?

Lust Item : Marc by Marc Jacobs Stellar Dot Hoodie

Marc by Marc Jacobs Stellar Dot Hoodie One of my favorite pieces for spring is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Stellar Dot Hoodie. Available in black (pictured) and red, this hoodie features starbursts of color all over the outside. It also has an off-center zipper closer and button details on the front. To me, this just seems like a perfect piece to have on hand for those days when you have to get ready in a hurry. You can toss it on over a basic jeans and tee shirt but it adds a little something extra to your look. Personally, I think that it would look best with destroyed jeans, as featured on the model from ShopBop. I’d also pair it with basic tee’s or tanks, as suggested by ShopBop, and some masculine styled women’s shoes, like oxford flats . What do you think of this hoodie? How would you wear it?

On Wednesday March 18, Nicole Richie showed her support for the What Comes Around Goes Around Fall 2009 Collection Launch. Proudly displaying her growing belly, Richie looked adorable in a basic jeans a tee with a gold butterfly top by Ossie Clark. The outfit is definitely more conservative that I usually expect from Nicole, but she looks great. I’m curious to see what Richie will work into her wardrobe later in her pregnancy. Daria Werbowy for Vogue Paris March 2009

In the March 2009 issue of Vogue Paris, Daria Werbowy posed for photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in a piece titled La veste. While this piece was definitely a bit heavy on the Chanel logo dropping, it also show cases many of the best trends for spring. The photographs are gorgeous and the styling for the piece is both wearable and stylish.

My two favorite looks are the piece featuring the blazer and full skirt, and the one just below it featuring the stone wash jeans. I also love the one featuring the blazer and bib necklace that is just under the one in the purple swimsuit. What are your favorite looks from this piece?

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery Moisturizer Review

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery Moisturizer One skin care product that I absolutely cannot live without is moisturizer. As I get older and my skin settles into its natural state I’ve been able to realize the importance of the stuff. Not to mention that since I am wanting to keep my skin looking youthful for as long as possible, I try to keep it pampered. I previously posted my review of Dermalogica MultiVitamin Thermafoliant, which is from Dermalogica’s Age Smart Line. Another product from Dermalogica’s Age Smart line that I have tried is Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery Moisturizer. In the past, I’ve tried other moisturizers and have always gone back to my regular Oil of Olay Complete moisturizer with SPF, I have loved this moisturizer.

The product is very thick and creamy, like a hand cream, but isn’t greasy. It absorbs quickly into my skin and leaves it feeling incredibly soft and smooth for hours. It has an SPF of 30, which is great because your face needs a good daily dose of SPF to keep wrinkles away. Unlike other moisturizers that I have tried of similar consistency, it doesn’t clog my pores. In fact, I’ve noticed that the condition of my skin has actually improved since using Dynamic Skin Recovery Moisturizer on a daily basis. Of course, using the Dermalogica MultiVitamin Thermafoliant every other day is definitely helping too. It contains Glucosamine, Soy, and White Tea polyphenols to help stimulate collagen in your skin and prevent damage from Free Radicals. It also contains tripeptides, Vitamin C, Yeast Extract and Phytoestrogens to help increase natural collagen production to enhance the firmness of your skin. Unlike most moisturizers, this one does not smell like your typical lotion. Instead, it’s a calming herbal scent.
