Jeweled Flats for Fall

Jeweled Flats for Fall : Vera Wang Lavender Label, Kate Spade & Apepazza

One trend that I’m really excited about this fall are Jeweled Flats. They are such a simple and easy way to both add some spice to and freshen up your wardrobe. Accessories are the easiest (and often cheapest) way to update all your staple pieces and incorporate current trends. Odds are that I’m not the only person who picks up a pair this fall to give their dark wash skinny jeans, v-neck tee and blazer combination a bit of a twist.

My three favorite Jeweled Flats for Fall are pictured above from left to right. You can pick up the Vera Wang Lavender Label Lisa Jeweled Ballerina Flat, the Kate Spade Neely Flat, and the Apepazza Simba Flat from Nordstrom. True, they are definitely ones that I can only imagine adding to my wardrobe . However, with shoes this cute and stylish, I figure it’s okay to dream.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection Review

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection Review

I don’t think that I’m alone in loving the current low maintenance hair style trend of tousled waves. It looks like you spent the day at the beach playing in the surf, instantly adding a bit of fun to any look. Since my hair’s natural texture is some odd combination of half straight and half wavy, it seemed like an easy enough style to try out. After reading a few good reviews, I decided to check out the Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection and to see what the results were.

Please note that this product was reviewed before the focus of Logical Harmony was on cruelty free and vegan beauty products. At this time, Herbal Essences is not a cruelty free or vegan brand.

Freebie Saturday #50

I’ve missed the past couple of Freebie Saturday posts. But, better late than never, right? I just wish that there was more to offer this week. A lot of the samples I found were random and non-beauty related ones, like cleaners for copper sinks and what not. I hope that you find at least one or two of these useful. Enjoy!

Leighton Meester Teen Choice Awards 2009

Leighton Meester Teen Choice Awards 2009 Leighton Meester Teen Choice Awards 2009

At the Teen Choice Awards 2009, Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester wore an incredibly cute striped dress by Louis Vuitton. The mix of stripes, polka dots, and ruffles could have been too much on another piece. But let the people at Louis Vuitton work their magic and it turns into something amazing. She accessorized with bright red Zenith Mary Janes by Brian Atwood, Cathy Waterman jewelry and a Nina Ricci clutch.

As with the dress worn by Megan Fox, Mary Janes are the perfect pick for shoes! I love that she went with a bold red shade instead of sticking with basic black. With a dress that gorgeous, she definitely won’t need to be visiting a fulfillment center. In my opinion, Leighton Meester was the best dressed at the event. Megan Fox Teen Choice Awards 2009

Megan Fox Teen Choice Awards 2009

At the Teen Choice Awards 2009, Transformers actress Megan Fox wore a stylish nude colored ruffled mini dress. Megan Fox seems to love the comparisons to Angelina Jolie (some say they need DNA testing) and definitely plays up the appropriate features to get that reaction. Not one to be shy, it’s no surprise that she chose a dress with such a daring length. She acessorized with the Marlo pumps by Brian Atwood and David Yurman jewelry.

Personally, I like the dress but feel that she could have picked better shoes. Some multi-strap mary janes would have been really cute. What do you think of the dress that Megan Fox wore to the Teen Choice Awards 2009?

Kenzo Fall 2009 Ready to Wear

Kenzo Fall 2009 Ready to Wear

To be honest, I wasn’t familiar with Kenzo before seeing the Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection, but I loved what I saw. Designer Antonio Marras used his home country of Russia as an influence for this collection. He even presented the show notes to guests by rolling them up inside matryoshka dolls on the guest seats. I love the touch of military influence in this collection as well as the heavy use of florals. His combinations of the two created some amazing looks.

Miu Miu Fall 2009 Ready to Wear

Miu Miu Fall 2009 Ready to Wear

Born with fashion in her blood, Miuccia Prada did an amazing job with the Miu Miu Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection. This very Parisian feeling collection was full of unique necklines, embellishments, neutral shades and rich jewel tones. Lots of the items featured revealing necklines, but many also featured draping in the back to reveal some unexpected skin. It’s definitely a collection that anyone can wear, not just those who pop diet pills all day and that some designers seem to cater to. Even if the line isn’t your style, it’s great for fall fashion inspiration as it shows you new ways to wear and new ways to layer items that are probably already in your closet.

Chloé Fall 2009 Ready to Wear

Chloé Fall 2009 Ready to Wear

After the departure of Phoebe Philo, it has taken some time for things at Chloé to settle in and for it’s reputation to be re-established. Several designers tried with their talents, but no luck. Until recently that is. The new designer for Chloé, Hannah MacGibbon, seems to have finally guided the label back to where it used to be. Featuring high-waisted pants, lots of cuffs, gigantic coats, and lots of other items that are sure to bring everyone currently on vacation with Outer Banks rentals back to Chloé.

I think that this is one of the most interesting and promising shows that has been seen from Chloé in some time. For a fashion label with such a grand reputation, it’s nice to see something worthwhile from it. What do you think of the Chloé Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection?

Zac Posen Fall 2009 Ready to Wear

Zac Posen Fall 2009 Ready to Wear

Every single season, I am reminded of why Zac Posen is my absolute favorite designer. With his combination of vintage, retro, and Victorian, his Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection was no exception. His statement on the collection being a combination of 1940′s inspired vintage and Victorian was, “They were both times of sculpting clothing.” These influences can definitely be seen in his designs this fall through his use of ruffles, shaped shoulders, and skirts. Zac Posen also threw in unexpected twists, such as metallic fabrics and bold details.

While I did try to limit myself to the number of pieces from the Zac Posen Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection here, I just couldn’t limit it down that much. Posen’s work always amazes and inspires me. What do you think of his Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection?

Karl Lagerfeld Fall 2009 Ready to Wear

Karl Lagerfeld Fall 2009 Ready to Wear

Fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld is never one to disappoint when it comes to his runway shows. Full of metallics, unique necklines, and lots of pattern and textures, his Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection is going to give everyone something to lust over. His statement on things was that while everyone else was focusing on the revival of the 1980′s trends, he wanted to look to the far future for inspiration. There’s a reason that everyone knows Lagerfeld’s name, and this collection only helps to cement his place in the world of fashion.
