Cruelty Free Faves : Kaitlyn of The Daily Fancy

When it comes to cruelty free and vegan beauty, a lot of people picture an earthy-crunchy kind of girl wearing Birkenstocks and whose makeup collection consists of lip balm and mascara. One of the main goals of Logical Harmony is to show that you can still maintain your lifestyle while being animal friendly. In an effort to show that there is so much more to cruelty free and vegan beauty, I reached out to some of your favorite fashion bloggers and asked them to share their favorite items that just happen to be cruelty free and/or vegan.

Cruelty Free Faves : Kaitlyn of The Daily Fancy

When Kaitlyn and I first stumbled on each others blogs, we were both shocked as to how we hadn’t found them earlier. We’re both vegan and focus on bringing awareness to all the great animal friendly options out there. Full of style posts and fashion inspiration, The Daily Fancy is also a completely animal friendly blog. Even more proof that you can be kind to our furry friends and still look great.

Sure, there’s a potential for things to go wrong with everything we do. But while the price of beauty may involve a little pain, some solutions to your beauty dilemmas come with a slew of surprising side effects. We asked dermatologists, doctors, and beauty experts to tell us what can go wrong with certain beauty treatments — and the safer options that’ll give you similar results. Here’s what they had to say.

Wet N Wild is Cruelty Free, Not All Vegan

Wet N Wild is Cruelty Free, Not All Vegan

Drugstore cosmetic brand Wet N Wild has long been known for their large variety of makeup at extremely affordable prices. Not only is this easily accessible line cruelty free, but they also offer a variety of vegan items.

As previously stated – With each brand that I want to feature, I’m sending the company an e-mail asking them to clarify if they use animal testing at any point in the process as well as if they use any animal ingredients or by-products. I want readers of Logical Harmony to be getting verified information that I know is correct. When I contacted Wet N Wild, they sent me the following reply :

Thank you for contacting wet n wild.

As a PETA-certified cruelty-free brand, for the thirty years we’ve been around, we’re proud to say that we have never and will never test on animals, and neither do any of our third party vendors.

While most of our products are vegan, we do carry some products that contain carmine. However, carmine is relatively harmless and is considered an all-natural ingredient. The FDA states that it has found no evidence of carmine posing a “significant hazard” to the general population. But, in rare cases, people have been found to be allergic to it.

Here is a list of our vegan products:

Burt’s Bees Natural Skin Solutions for Sensitive Skin Review

Burt's Bees Natural Skin Solutions for Sensitive Skin Review

I’ve been an avid fan of Burt’s Bees chapsticks and was excited to try out their new Sensitive ‘Natural Skin Solutions’ line. I have incredibly sensitive skin – I break out easily especially to new products or ones with fragrances and on top of that I have eczema. First off these products claim to be fragrance free – I definitely would agree with that they do not have a perfume like fragrance at all, but that isn’t to say that they are scent-less. I’d describe the smell as being slightly like medical lotions. The cleanser was difficult to get use to because since it is soap-free it doesn’t lather and it made me concerned that my skin was not clean afterwards.
