Pacifica Rose Gold Brightening Primer Serum Review

Pacifica Rose Gold Brightening Primer Serum Review

When I first found out that Pacifica was making a primer, I knew that I needed to get my hands on it. This is a product that I have been hoping they would make for a really long time. The Pacifica Rose Gold Brightening Primer Serum is meant to help your makeup apply smoothly, moisturize and brighten your skin, and minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines.

The Pacifica Rose Gold Brightening Primer Serum is available exclusively at Target. When I finally found it at my local Target, I was so excited to give it a try! I have been using it for some time now as a base for liquid foundation, powder foundation, and even with a CC cream to see how well it works.

Claims: “Like an energy boost for your face, this unique innovative formula for all skin types works hard to make your makeup brighter and last longer while it revives and soothes skin. Minimizes pores, shine, and fine lines using a weightless, silicone-free formula, designed to brighten and lengthen the wear of your makeup.”

Ingredients: Not listed online. I accidentally recycled the packaging before writing down the ingredients. Online it does say that this product is formulated without talc, FD&C colors, mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, petroleum, propylene glycol, gluten, and peanut oil. Like all Pacifica products, it is also vegan.

Pros: Very light formula that goes on smoothly and evenly. Moisturizes skin while priming it for makeup. Pump bottle makes it easy to apply. Great for creating a dewy and natural look. Cruelty free brand. Vegan formula.

Cons: The formula is a bit runny, which may take some adjusting to. This may not work for all skin types. May be hard to find for some because it is exclusive to Target.

The Verdict: Overall, I am happy with the Pacifica Rose Gold Brightening Primer Serum. This is a great everyday primer. The formula does take a bit of getting used to because it’s a primer serum and many of us are used to thicker primer formulas. I tried this primer serum with a CC cream, a liquid foundation, and a powder foundation. I did find that each formula seemed to wear differently with this primer, even within each category. For example, I tried three different liquid foundations and had three different results. That being said, I feel that this is true with any primer. It is all about finding the best combination of what works for your skin.

Once you do find a combination that works well, this is an amazing primer. I have combination/dry skin and found that this primer worked really well to help my skin moisturized and looking dewy (without looking oily). It also helped my makeup go on smoother, need fewer touch-ups, and last longer.

  1. Hi Tashina,
I’m in Australia, and I can’t get this product. I was wondering if you’ve tried the Pacifica Oil Control Primer? I have oily skin so I was thinking of buying this, and was curious as to your thoughts?
    Thanks 🙂
    Alex
