One Oufit : Navy & White For Spring
I know that I’ve made a previous posts about how big the color combination of Navy & White for Spring is going to be. In case you missed it, see the posts here and here. Fellow beauty blogger Marsadie even blogged about this color combination in her recent post, Spring/Summer Style: Going Nautical. Due to the popularity of this great color combination, and the dress requirements of one of my jobs, I’ve been living in navy, white, and gray. I decided to put together an outfit that I would love to wear that is based on this color combination. This outfit is crisp, clean, comfortable, and classic. All the key things that I tend to look for in most outfits that I wear.

Wide-leg and bell bottom pants are going to be huge this spring. Especially lovely cuts like the Abercrombie & Fitch Darcy Twill Pants in Navy. I know that it seems like they have been saying that for every season, especially last fall, but, trust me. It’s true this time!
I love layering tops and, on the average day, am wearing 2 to 4 at a time. With this outfit, I’d wear a gray tank, like the Abercrombie & Fitch Allison Tank in Heather Grey, underneath a navy tank, like Abercrombie & Fitch Allison Tank in Navy. Wearing a gray tank underneath helps to break up the two navy pieces but isn’t too much of a contrast to throw off the look. I’d finish the layers with a simple white tee on top, like the Abercrombie & Fitch Kendall Knit Tee in White. A v-neck or henley tee would also look really cute. Like the Abercrombie & Fitch Cassandra Knit Tee in white or the Abercrombie & Fitch Quin Knit Tee in white. For some reason, and even though a lot of people consider it to be a fashion no-no, I love to wear dark and bright tanks underneath white and gray shirts. I feel like it adds a pop of color without being overwhelming, and it still keeps the outfit basic.
Personally, I think that spring scarves are pretty difficult to work with. They can look great with some outfits and terrible with some. My opinion is that if the outfit is kept basic, they can look cute. For this outfit, I would wear the Abercrombie & Fitch Vintage Small Striped Spring Scarf in Cream Stripe.
Since I live in flip flops, I’d wear them with this outfit if it was sunny out. The Abercrombie & Fitch Striped Rubber Flip Flops in Grey Stripe would be really cute. Especially since they match the scarf. But, on cooler or rainy days, a pair of navy blue, gray, or white Converse Chuck Taylor’s or Vans slip-ons would look really cute with this outfit.
I like to keep my accessories really simple and elegant. So I’d probably just wear something basic, like the Forever 21 Forty Bangle Set in Silver. And, since I can’t not wear sunglasses (at any given time I have at least 2 pairs in my purse), I’d add a little flair to the outfit and wear the Forever 21 Thrift Sunglasses in Pink.
As is obvious by this outfit being something I would wear right now, I’m not in a location that still needs down comforters on the beds at night. If you are in a cooler environment, here are some quick ways to tailor this outfit to your needs. Wear a cardigan over it, like the Abercrombie & Fitch Sloan Cardigan Sweater in gray. As suggested above, try navy blue, gray, or white Converse Chuck Taylor’s or Vans slip-ons instead of flip flops.

Bellbottoms are coming back? Aww yes!! That will be a nice change from the bootcut and tiny flares. I’m a 60s girl at heart and I love wid leg and flare bottoms with a flowy top.
The navy and white trend is so great imo. I love the crisp color combos you can make and how these colors can go from casual to office with a quick change of accessories!
I like the whole outfit!
I wanna get some of wide-leg pants.
No bell bottoms! But I actually love this outfit! I would wear it even with them. My issue with the wide leg versus skinny issue is simply that bell bottoms feel ‘messier’ somehow. I love fashion but am also very minimalist. I hope I can still get away with gauchos ’cause I freaking love those.
I love those thin tops. Super sexy for summer, and definitely the best for layering. And those flip-flops look so comfortable and just make me want to run errands in the sun. (Haha yeah right, there is so no sun out right now. How about where you are? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Sigh.)
I love your simple style and you’re really pretty so you can do it without looking plain, but I would love you take some risks and wear your usual simple and chic outfit with some crazy accessory you just love. I want to see a post about the unlikely pieces we’d be surprised to know you love.
Anything from A&F is LOVE! I haven’t shopped there in a while, due to scarce funds =[ I live in flip-flops, too!
Great selection, Tashina!
Navy isn’t really my “color” so when I do wear it, I have to girl it up a lot. It’s a great casual color! Love the pieces you chose, especially the bell bottoms and flip flops. I love Abercrombie flip flops.
Very cute outfit. Now, if I could only fit into A&F. Then… to afford it. haha! I LOVE it when you post outfit ideas, do it more often!
