My Beauty Favorites of 2008 : NARS, Benefit, CoverGirl, Urban Decay, Victoria's Secret & L.A.M.B.

I’m a big fan of both trying new beauty products and making lists. Here’s an excuse to do both and present My Beauty Favorites of 2008!

01. Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste Concealer : This is, hands down, the one cosmetics product that I could never live without. It’s the best concealer for under eye circles, redness, blemishes… Anything. You can read my full review and the post Benefit Erase Paste Vs. Boi-ing Concealer to learn more.

02. CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara : Before trying this mascara, I was dedicated to Maybelline Full’n'Soft. However, the full dark lashes that this mascara left me with completely converted me. As I recently posted, I’ve been using Dior’s Diorshow Mascara, and today I switched back and actually like the CoverGirl results a lot better. You can read my full review to learn more.

03. NARS Lip Gloss in Orgasm: Before trying this gloss, I thought that all glosses were more or less the same. After trying NARS Lip Gloss I learned that this was definitely not the case. It was very moisturizing, long lasting, came in great shades, and wasn’t sticky. What more could you ask for? Read my full review for more.

04. Urban Decay Primer Potion : I cannot live without this stuff! Not only is it great for adding staying power and color payoff to any type of eye shadow, but it also works great as a primer to cover blemishes. Just a dab over a blemish before applying concealer does wonders. It also helps my $3 NYC Loose Shadow Pigment last and look better than my MAC Pigments. You can read my full review to learn more.

05. L L.A.M.B. Fragrance By Gwen Stefani : Aside from my love of all things related to Gwen Stefani, I would think that this is one of the best fragrances anyways. With notes of patchouli (I’m from the NorthWest, of course I love it!) and florals, I can’t wear it without smelling my own wrists through out the day.

06. Benefit Cosmetics Eye Bright : On those days when my Erase Paste isn’t enough on it’s own, or when I’m pressed for time, Eye Bright helps me instantly look more awake and alert. It’s a pearly pink shade that looks natural on your skin, unlike shades of white liners that I’ve seen reccomended for the same use.

07. CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear Eye Liner : I’m one of those girls who loves the look of smudged liner, but I need it to stay in place all day. This liner does the trick. You can easily smudge it with a q-tip but it doesn’t budge at all. I’ve even slept in it before (a HUGE mistake, I know!) and woken up to still perfect liner. Not that I reccomend doing that because it’s terrible for your skin but, come on, we’ve all done it and how many other liners actually stay put overnight? Not too many. Read my full review for more.

08. CoverGirl Tru Blend Foundation : For years I’ve been making my own tinted moisturizer with my favorite Oil of Olay moisturizer and liquid foundation. This foundation is the perfect substitute. It provides coverage but looks completely natural. In fact, most people I know don’t even think I wear foundation.

09. NARS The Multiple in Orgasm : It’s no secret that I’m pretty much obsessed with the NARS Orgasm line. I adore The Multiple because it’s a great cream blush in an easy to use and carry stick. I noticed a big difference in how natural this stuff looks on my skin compared to powder blush.  It works great as a highlighter and I also sometimes use it to blend my eyeshadow shades. 10. Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in Red Delicious : Last month I blogged about this gloss in one of my weekly obsessions posts, and since then it’s become my second favorite gloss this year. I love the colors and the smells. Especially Red Delicious, which is actually a great peachy-pink color and smells like sparkling apple cider. They are moisturizing and long lasting, which is always necessary to any good gloss.
