Hot Trend : 9 of The Best Printed Flats
One of the hottest trends right now are Patterned Flats. They are a quick and easy way to dress up an otherwise basic outfit and to add a touch of your personality to any look. After much online browsing, I picked what I felt were the 9 best options out there.
1. Sam Edelman Carmen Ballerina Pucci Print Flat : Shown here in Pink, but also available in Black & Nude and Blue, this ballet flat is by far the most unique patterned flat out there right now. These flats have a leather upper with satin printed fabric. What makes these flats so great is not only the high quality craftsmanship that went into creating them, but their ability to instantly add both a glamorous touch and a funky vibe to any look. Pair them with skirts, dark washed denim, or dresses. You can’t go wrong with these Pucci Print flats on your feet. You can pick these flats up through Revolve Clothing, here.
2. Betsey Johnson Spotted Flat : These flats are, just like most Betsey Johnson designs, a mix of incredibly cute retro prints and funky style. They show what Johnson really is all about - having fun with fashion and not being afraid to get creative. By taking a common pattern and adding her own flair, Betsey Johnson turned these flats into something very unique and versatile. They would look amazing paired with a dress similar to those from her Spring 2008 Ready-To-Wear runway show. These flats are available through ASOS, here.
3. Poetic Licence Jungle Fever Flat : These pointed toe flats by Poetic Licence in Navy & Yellow are the perfect flats to help channel the hippie chic vibe that’s going to be huge this summer. The t-straps add a feminine touch to a retro inspired print, which makes them the perfect shoes to go from daytime business casual environments to night time outings. Personally, I think that they would look great with a navy blue high-waisted skirt and a white blouse. These flats are available through Revolve Clothing here.
4. NOW!! Prosper Flat : These round toe flats combine the current trend of graphic print with retro colors that were popular in the 1960’s and 1970’s into something that’s too great to pass up. Personally, I’m a sucker for retro prints and colors, so these flats immediately caught my eye. They would be perfect to wear with a retro inspired look, such as high waisted wide leg jeans and a blouse. They would also be a great way to turn an otherwise cute but boring look, such as shorts, a basic tee, and a menswear vest, into a creative and new look. Available through Journey’s, here.
5. Alloy Piece of Cake Flat : These rainbow colored knit flats are just too unique to pass on. Not to mention, too affordable. I love how fun and playful the print of the shoe and the colors used are. These are definitely the shoes to have on hand if you want to add a pop of color (okay, many colors) to your look. Just keep the rest of the outfit basic to avoid your look being too busy. They are definitely some of the funnest flats that I’ve seen in some time and are at a cost that won’t hurt your wallet to own. These flats are available through Alloy, here.
6. Sam Edelman Carmen Ballet Flat : Just like their Pucci print counterparts, these ballet flats are not only gorgeous but also very unique. They come in Yellow (pictured), Black & Nude, Copper and Pewter. So there is a color to work with every aspect of your wardrobe. I think that these flats would look especially cute with a cream colored skirt and a brown safari jacket. Or with dark wash skinny or straight leg jeans, a white blouse, and a quilted handbag. These flats are available through Revolve Clothing, here.
7. Shellys Flat Pointed Stripe Flats : These flats are the perfect toned down way to incorporate the current trend of neon colors into your wardrobe. Whether you just want a punch of color to work your way into things, or to add spice to an otherwise basic look, these flats are perfect. If you have to stick to a business casual look and can’t be too crazy with colors, combine these shoes with some brightly colored earrings or nail polish to give your look some personality. The pointed toes can help create the illusion of longer legs too. These flats are available through ASOS, here.
8. Missoni Ballet Flat : If shoes are your thing and you allow yourself to have one luxury item this summer and fall, pick these shoes! Try to not let the price tag scare you. Missoni items have quality that make the price worth it. Especially if you make the most of your purchase and wear these cute flats any chance that you get. Not only is the quality amazing since, but the pattern is cute enough to stand the test of time. The graphic pattern and color range make these flats easy to wear as they will go with pretty much any other item in your wardrobe. Available through Revolve Clothing, here.
9. Unionbay Cindy Flat : If you are looking for an adorable flat without wanting to drop a lot of cash, these Unionbay flats are the perfect option for you. The summery colors of the plaid and giant bow make them perfect to dress up dark wash skinny jeans or to wear with a high waisted pencil skirt. Plaid is a pattern that will never go out of style and while the bright colors are perfect for spring and summer, they are also a great way to bring some life back into your winter wardrobe. Available through Delia’s, here.

wow, those poetic license shoes are actually pretty hot. I always figured that business casual shoes had to be soul-crushingly ugly like these:
