Wishlist : Benefit Cosmetics
After a recent trip to a Benefit Cosmetics counter, I’ve become a convert to their products. As mentioned in my previous post, Product Reviews : Benefit Erase Paste, I picked up one item on this trip. It did leave me with a wish list that I plan on purchasing over time. As I mentioned in that post, the sales woman was very knowledgeable about the products. In fact, every item that she picked to try out on my skin were items that I have been interested in for some time. I hadn’t told her that before she decided to try apply them on me. She was not at all pushy about buying products from her and offered a lot of information about why she picked each product for my skin, how to apply it, and what similar options were. All in all, it was a very positive and educational visit to the Benefit Cosmetics counter.
After hearing so many good things about Some Kind-A Gorgeous I was able to finally try it out. All the buzz that I’ve been hearing is well deserved. The product goes on sheer and light, but provides coverage. It blends extremely well making it virtually disappear on your skin. One of my favorite things about this foundation was the cream to powder formula. It felt incredibly smooth and silky in the packaging, almost like a really great night cream, but went on so light! It comes with a sponge applicator in the package, which would be great for touch-ups. However, I’d suggest using a foundation brush for your initial application. For a bonus, use a foundation primer on your moisturized skin before applying Some Kind-A Gorgeous. Two great primers are Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer and Benefit That Gal Brightening Primer. Pick it up here.
Blush is a product that I am relatively new to. I didn’t see the point of it before but have no realized what a healthy flush it gives you and have become addicted. Just like bronzer, it’s also difficult to find a shade that’s just right for your skin tone and coloring. Thrrrob is an amazing blush. It’s pink without being too bright. It’s not too peachy or orange either, which seems to be a problem with a lot of blush shades. It’s sheer, so you can layer on as much, or as little, as you like. Just a quick brush on gave me a healthy glow that lasted all day long. It didn’t cake like some other blushes that I’ve tried have. Remember when you are applying blush to apply to to the apples of your cheeks. This is the part that sticks out when you smile. A quick brush of color onto your forehead, nose, and chin (basically any place the sun hits on your face) can add some extra color. Pick it up here.
As someone with well defined natural brows but what is called a “small eye base”, using a highlighter under them is key. I have green eyes and love to show them off, so attracting as much attention to them as I can is key. A highlighter like High Brow is great for everyone. It can really help to open up your eyes and make the entire eye area appear larger. Typically, I use a shimmery and sheer champagne colored eye shadow under my brows towards the outer corner of my eyes. It works decently, but fades during the day. This product worked better than any highlighter that I’ve tried and lasted all day. It’s also a great light pink color, so it blends into your skin for a more natural look. Pick it up here.

That highlighter looks sweet! I use Mac brow and highlight pallet slider thing, it was like 20$ or something and it works the best for filling in my brows and for my shade (dark brown) it comes with a orangy pink sheer highlighter, and I also use a shadestick to put under it that will make it pop.

I really like Benefit cosmetics, I recently purchased the fast and the flawless set at sephora. It had the some kind a gorgeous stuff in it, and a bunch of other stuff and I liked it all except for the cheek stain.
I’ll have to try that blush someday, there is sooo many products on my wishlist!
Another thing I love about Benefit is the cute packaging!

I’ve heard a lot of people rave about Benefit, and after your post about the Erase Paste I really want to try their line. Do you know anything about the Lemon Aid? I want to try that for my eyes since I have the dark circles and it claims to brighten your eyes a lot.
There are a ton of wishlist items I have and this post just made me want to add more! =]
