Go Green with Cargo’s PlantLove

Go Green with Cargo's PlantLove Have you guys heard about the new line of lipsticks from Cargo called PlantLove? PlantLove by Cargo is a line of 20 lipstick shades that are ecologically friendly. The tube of each lipstick is made out of corn. A biodegradable and renewable resource. The paper carton packaging is made from paper that has flower seeds in it. Just soak in some water, plant it a couple of inches deep in soil, and wait for flowers to grow. These lipsticks contain an Orchid Complex. It’s a protective agent that fights free-radicals and reduces fine lines. It also contains Meadow Foam Seed Oil as a source of fatty acids. All Cargo products are not tested on animals. I also checked the ingredients of each shade against the list of commonly used animal products from my Vegan Cosmetics Explained post and found that aside from beeswax, all shades are vegan. Since not all vegan consumers have a problem with beeswax, I felt that it was important to mention that. At $20.00 USD a pop, these lipsticks might seem a bit pricey. But, when you think about what supporting a cosmetic line that is both green and animal friendly does in the long run, and the influence that consumers have in the market, it’s well worth it. It comes in a wide variety of shades, so there is something for everyone.

As if being green wasn’t enough, for each lipstick sold, $2.00 will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. To help bring more attention to this product and to the good things that it does, 10 celebrities created shades for this line. Evangeline (sheer vibrant coral cream) was created by Evangeline Lily, Lindsay (sheer pink cream) by Lindsay Lohan, Maria (sheer poppy red cream) by Maria Menounos, Mariska (sheer warm nude cream) by Mariska Hargitay, Sarah (shimmering pink pearl) by Sarah Chalke, Cherry Bliss (sheer cherry) by Kim Raver, Grace (iced strawberry sorbet) and Faith (muted mauve) by Angie Harmon, and Sam (sheer red current) and Lola (sparkling praline) by Denise Richards. I use the cargo lipstick and I really like it. I have 2 colors~Killarney and Mariska. All of the shades look so nice. There is a Sheer Red shade I’d really like to try. Also I like their eyeshadows alot. I think I will plant the boxes tomorrow in a pot inside my house and get a jump on some flowers. I recommend buying Cargo Products from sephora.com. they give very nice samples, a gift for your birthday and it comes in a nice satin bag (if you check that box)

“The paper carton packaging is made from paper that has flower seeds in it. Just soak in some water, plant it a couple of inches deep in soil, and wait for flowers to grow.” I have a green thumb and LOVE plants/flowers. I may have to test one of these puppies out, even if i love my MAC!

I absolutely LOVEE the packaging for Cargo’s make up! Sometimes I find myself buying make up just for the packaging even if it’s ridiculously overpriced (eg. Benefit). Hehehe.
