Vegan & Cruelty Free Cosmetics by Hard Candy
After my post on Vegan & Cruelty Free Cosmetics by Urban Decay, I thought that I would also do one for Hard Candy. Even though they are owned by the same company, not all products that are vegan by one brand are vegan by the other. Urban Decay carries more vegan options for eye make up, while Hard Candy carries more vegan options for lip make up. Featured below are my top picks of cruelty free and vegan cosmetics and beauty products offered by Hard Candy.
Super Slim Eye Pencil : This pencil is perfect for those of us who want to have thin liner some days, and thicker lines the next. Specially made with super skinny “lead” in this eye pencil, it’s perfect for lining incredibly close to your lashes and making your eyes pop, without making it obvious that you even have liner on. They are waterproof, contain Vitamin E and Castor Oil to help moisturize sensitive eye skin, and even come with a sharpener. At $8.00 USD, this eye pencils aren’t terribly pricey. Especially for the color range offered in vegan formulas. Vegan options : Frigid (bright blue), Sushi (bright green), and Tarpit (black). Available here.
Super Shine Gloss : This sheer gloss definitely lives up to the name. As if the shades weren’t girly enough, each one is scented like vanilla cake batter! This gloss comes with a brush applicator, instead of a sponge, which makes it easy to apply over other glosses or lipsticks. It’s a great one to toss in your purse for touch ups during the day. At $12.00 USD a piece, these glosses are worth the buck since they will last you ages. Vegan options : Fresh (rosy brown), Love Child (pearl taupe), Nylon (mocha brown), Oxygen (sheer metallic white with glitter), Pop (sheer plum with glitter), Sweetie (frosted pink), and Whimsy (pink). Available here.
Lip Sorbet : These glosses come packaged in adorable little tubes. Perfect for carrying in your pocket, or even the smallest clutch. These sheer glosses are all scented and flavored after the fruit in the name of each gloss. Perfect for summer, or when you are just missing the sun. The glosses even contain cooling ingredients that will make your lips tingle. At $10.50 USD, treat yourself to one. Vegan options : Cherry Love (bright red), Lime Kiss (green - goes on clear - with gold sparkles), Passion Play (peachy coral), Raspberry Crush (juicy plum), and Strawberry Squeeze (baby pink). That means that every color is vegan! Available here.
Sweet Spot Lip Gloss : The packaging of these glosses is just too chic. Retro flowered patterns like those popular in the 1960’s combined with the names of each gloss are perfect for your boho-chic friends or for pulling out of your vintage stamped leather handbag. Flavored with orange blossom, the unique flavor will be a pleasant surprise to accompany these sheer shades. At $11.00 USD each, they aren’t a too expensive beauty accessory to accompany this springs hippie fashion craze. Vegan options : Aquarius (clear with iridescent sparkle), Bohemian (sheer bronze with gold sparkle), Groovy (sheer red sparkle), Hippie Chick (peachy-orange shimmer), Psychedelic (sheer hot pink with iridescent sparkle). Available here.

I must be off in space, because I didn’t know there was such a line called Hard Candy, but I like what I see and the fact that it is vegan just tops it

I really love the vegan trend for cosmetics lately.
I wish it was easier to find “vegetarian” shoes/purses that aren’t ugly or $$$$$ from Stella McCartney.

I still want to know exactly what goes into non-vegan products…

There are way too many animal products that are commonly found in cosmetics, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc to list in a comment! I’ve been working on a post about it and am doing a lot of research. Last night I looked at just my bottles of shampoo and conditioner… All had for sure or possible animal products in them.

Really? It’s been around for years! They started out with the pastel nail polish with the rubber ring that came with it and have just really taken off from there. I love that they offer vegan items because most mainstream brands don’t.

Me too!! I think that a lot of it sells just because the company uses it being vegan or vegetarian as a marketing strategy and not because the items are actually cute. I’ve never seen a Matt & Nat item that I’ve actually liked, so while I love that the company is vegan, I’d never buy one of their items.

I love Hard Candy! It’s been one of my favorite cosmetics brands for years! Every time I go to Sephora I get something by Hard Candy. I also love the scent of their new perfume.
