Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection Review

I don’t think that I’m alone in loving the current low maintenance hair style trend of tousled waves. It looks like you spent the day at the beach playing in the surf, instantly adding a bit of fun to any look. Since my hair’s natural texture is some odd combination of half straight and half wavy, it seemed like an easy enough style to try out. After reading a few good reviews, I decided to check out the Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection and to see what the results were.

Please note that this product was reviewed before the focus of Logical Harmony was on cruelty free and vegan beauty products. At this time, Herbal Essences is not a cruelty free or vegan brand.

A lot of people say that it’s not necessary to use products from the same line to achieve great results. While my hair care style is usually a giant mix and match routine depending on my mood (the number of bottles in my shower and bathroom cabinets is pretty darn ridiculous), I wanted to find out for myself if it actually made a difference on my hair.

Overall, I was extremely happy with the Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection. Even when I just used the products and let my hair air dry, it had more natural waves and texture than normal. When I went out of my way to curl my hair once dry, as suggested by the products (Total Beauty features the collection in their video tutorial showing how to Create Sexy Waves in Medium-Length Hair), I did notice a difference in the staying power of the curls. I have fine hair, so I usually have to put on tons of hairspray for curls to stay. Not true with the Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection! Just a quick mist of the spray after curling and the loose curls stayed around all day long. I used hot rollers, a curling iron, and tried to curl my hair with my flat iron for the first time ever. Aside from my lack of skills with the flat iron, the results held true no matter what method I used to curl my hair. Plus, the entire Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection has a really light floral scent that smells great.

My favorite combination from the Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection was to use Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Shampoo, Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Conditioner, Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Mousse, and Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Hairspray. After washing and conditioning my hair, I applied the mousse from roots to tips and blow dried upside down for extra volume. Once done, I added some extra waves with a curling iron and brushed them out very gently with my fingers. I finished by spritzing with the hairspray. The results was just what I had wanted from the products – a great natural beachy waves look.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Shampoo : Left my hair feeling smooth, soft, and clean. It didn’t strip my hair of natural oils by overcleansing but was effective enough to remove styling product buildup. Plus, it smells great. Read more reviews on Total Beauty.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Conditioner : Left my hair moisturized without weighing it down. When you have fine hair like I do, this is more important than you might think. It worked well on any tangles in my hair and left me with easy to comb hair after washing. Read more reviews on Total Beauty.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Mousse : This was the line from the entire Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection that I liked the most. It emphasized natural waves while also adding volume. I loved this mousse because it was lightweight and gave me extra volume, even when I let my hair air dry. Apply it to the roots of your hair when damp and comb through to the tips for extra lift. Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Finishing Cream : There are two ways to use this product. Apply it to damp hair before letting it air dry and give your natural waves better shape and condition. Or apply to dry hair after styling to work as a pomade alternative. When using just a tiny bit of this product, both ways of styling worked great. Read more reviews on Total Beauty.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Spray Gel : This product was not recommended for use on fine hair, and I can see why. On different hair it would do wonders to help bring out and control your natural waves, but it just weighed my hair down. Out of the entire Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection, I liked this product the least. Read more reviews on Total Beauty.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Hairspray : It promised to hold your style without being stiff, and completely lived up to its claims. You only need a bit of the product to see results. Combined with the Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Shampoo, Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Conditioner, and Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Mousse, I was able to get some great waves with lots of volume.
