Hair Care Tips For All Types
Just like our skin, our hair has it’s unique needs to be in it’s best shape and condition. If you treat your hair right, it shows. Just as it also shows if you neglect to care for it properly. There are three hair types : dry, oily, and normal. It’s important to figure out which type of hair you have (or which type is closest to what you have) so that you can give it the proper care that it needs.
No matter which hair type you have, here are some basic guidelines on ways to give it some extra TLC :
+ Avoid using styling products with alcohol in them. These will dry out your hair.
+ At least once a week, use a deep conditioning treatment. If you don’t want to buy one at the store, use olive oil. I deep condition all my hair once a week and deep condition my ends twice.
+ If you frequently use heat to style your hair, give your hair a break once or twice a week.
+ To minimize heat damage let your hair air dry as much as possible before pulling out the blow dryer. Unless you have a wet-to-straight flat iron made specifically for wet hair, make sure your hair is dry before any heated styling tool touches it.
+ Get regular trims. Split ends wreak havoc on your hair, especially if you let them go wild.
+ When your hair is wet, use a wide tooth comb. This will help detangle and prevent breakage.
What are some of the tricks and tips that you guys have for taking care of your hair?

If I don’t have to go anywhere on a day I skip washing my hair and I know that helps a little bit. My hair is fried but I think it’s because of having it highlighted all these years, and when I was younger I used peroxide on it!!
I also think the girl that did my hair last time messed it up. Instead of just doing my roots she went over bleach and did the whole strands.
I use Bed Head products on my hair which is pretty expensive stuff, but I really can’t tell a difference from when I use store brand products. I never deep condition, I’ve actually been thinking about it lately.
I don’t wash my hair everyday but even when I do, I have to blow dry it before it air dries to much and often use hairspray just to keep it from getting super greasy. I guess it’s good my hair isn’t too damaged. When I don’t dye it for awhile it gets super oily as well. Hopefully it will improve as my hair grows. I also plan on getting some baby powder to put in my hair between washes.
Thank god I have short hair. I treat it so horribly!
It’s nice to be able to bleach it, dye it, flat iron it, blow dry it… and a month later cut 90% of that damage off! Though, I do take care of it as well… I probably wouldn’t do the same things I do with my hair if it were longer.
Though, I have disgustingly oily hair (and skin), so at least it’s getting it’s natural oils, right?
