Foreo Issa Electric Toothbrush Review

Foreo Issa Electric Toothbrush Review

Maybe I am just not fully aware, but it seems like most electric toothbrushes on the market are produced by brands who test on animals. We all hear that electric toothbrushes can give you a cleaner and brighter smile than the traditional models, but I was never willing to put the lives of animals first and happy to spend some extra time with my regular toothbrush. When I found out about the Foreo Luna, an electric toothbrush from a cruelty free brand, I was curious.

It seems as if there are so many beauty gadgets out there. Some are simply that – a gadget. And others really do make a difference in your beauty routine. I was really impressed with the Foreo Luna that got to try and felt that it was a gadget that really made a difference in my own skincare routine. So when iFabbo offered to send me the  Foreo Issa Electronic Toothbrush to try out as well, I was immediately interested.

Claims: “The world’s first electric toothbrush made completely from silicone, the ISSAâ„¢ is a groundbreaking at-home dental solution for cleaning and whitening. Just 2 minutes’ use every morning and night will leave your teeth looking whiter and brighter while a gentle gum-massage function will lead to healthier-looking gums – so you can show off your smile with confidence.

I found the Foreo Issa to be very easy to use. You just apply your toothpaste to the brush head and press the center button to turn the Foreo Issa on. It has + and – buttons to adjust the speed. You would want to brush in the same way as you would with a traditional toothbrush to get the most effective clean. Every 30 seconds, the pulsations pause to let you know it’s time to move on to the next area of your mouth. To signal that you are done, it will pause three times in a row. Make sure to rinse your Foreo Issa once you are done brushing.

You can use regular toothpaste with the Issa, but I would not suggest using a tooth powder. It definitely got a little caked up between the bristles. While it did rinse out easily, brushing with regular toothpaste just seemed easier.

After using the Foreo Issa consistently for a couple of weeks, I have noticed some pros and some cons. I typically use a soft bristle toothbrush and brush my teeth two or three time per day. The brush is really gentle and I felt like it did a really great job of stimulating my gums. At first, my teeth did not feel as clean as they do when using a traditional toothbrush. This is something that did get better the longer I used it, but I feel that it could be an issue for a lot of consumers. If you are expecting to see and feel immediate results, this may not be the right toothbrush for you. I think that this brush is great to travel with because it’s so easy to clean and dries off quickly.

I am, personally, not going to replace my traditional toothbrush with the Foreo Issa on a regular basis but I will continue to use it as a part of my dental routine. I liked the brush overall but am not sure if the average person would get the results that they are looking for. If you are someone with sensitive gums or sensitive teeth, this could be a great toothbrush for you.

Have you tried the Foreo Issa? What were your thoughts?

  1. Thank you for this!! I have to replace my Oral-B brand electric toothbrush soon and I was hoping there’d be an eco-conscious/bacteria resistent/performance grade alternative available that wasn’t a billion dollars. This price is steep, but for what you get, I am placated for sure.

  2. I’d never even heard of it before I’d read your article and I’d definitely buy one one day. I think it is quite pricey however if comes from a company that doesn’t test on animals, in my opinion it is worth every penny spend on it!! And I think it is a cool looking toothbrush ?
