Current Obsessions : Knee Socks, Hair Bows, Wedges & Luminizer
Lately, I’ve decided that it’s worth it to indulge a little bit in some obsessions. While it’s not always budget friendly to cater to every whim you have, it’s important to let a few work their way into your life. From cozy knee socks to cute hair bows to edgy wedges and lumiziner to make my skin glow, I’ve definitely indulged in my fair share recently. Once I get my camera going and my living space appropriately set up, I do plan on posting more personal style posts featuring these items.

Knee Socks : Remember in Clueless how Cher so effortlessly rocked knee socks with her skirts and dresses? I’ve always loved the look and used to wear them back in middle school. Now, my long time love of knee socks has been rekindled. In fact, if I’m wearing a skirt or dress, odds are I’m wearing a pair with them. I also love them paired with super short semi-dressy shorts and a long sleeve button up. It’s okay to wear too short shorts if your legs are covered from the knee down, right? Once it gets colder out, I’m planning on wearing them with longer sweaters, sweater dresses, and boots or wedges.

Hair Bows : While some people may immediately think of Lada Gaga style over the top pieces, I’m loving innocent and sweet styles. I currently have three and will probably be adding to my collection. My favorite route is to go ultra preppy by matching my bow to my skirt and throwing on a pair of knee socks.

Wedges : I have been lusting after the Pixie Wedges from Jeffrey Campbell for months now. They are definitely a love them or hate them item. Personally, I love how they can add edge to a look while still looking put together. Since the price tag on these was a bit too high for my budget, you can imagine my joy at finding a nearly identical pair at Marshall’s for just a fraction of the price. I can’t wait to pair them with dark wash skinny jeans, a loose v-neck, and my favorite blazer.

Luminizer : Seen here on Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, this stuff can turn your skin from dull to glowing. It’s a simple and easy step to add to your morning routine that will give you a big pay off. I’m obsessed with mixing the stuff in with my foundation before application. When going out at night, I add a little extra just above the apples of my cheeks (combined with blush and bronzer in the right places, it can help sculpt your cheeks) and on my collar bone. My personal favorite in High Beam from Benefit Cosmetics.
What are your recent obsessions?

Those boots are to die for, and if you can find it, the luminizer by the Olsen twins themselves (They used to sell it at Walmart) is AMAZE.
Mine are slightly different. They fold over at the top and don’t have that amazing zipper detail. But they were also super cheap. Good to know about the luminizer!! I’ll definitely try and find it.
I’ve been wanting those boots forever, too! I also like the Alicia boots, which are a little cheaper than the Pixies. There’s a cheap pair like them on eBay but they’re out of my size.
Ashley looks gorgeous there! I have the High Beam mini and I love that stuff.
I’m always way to sketched out by eBay. So I just wait to find similar styles at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx or for Forever 21 or Urban to come out with them. The pair I got at Marshall’s are online for $170, so I’m pretty happy with the quality and how cheap I got them for.
High Beam is addictive! Trust me, you’ll soon be buying the full size!
You better get a pic of your shoes! Hey – these are nice – http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=footwr_casual&footwr_style=&footwr_size=&footwr_color=&footwr_price=&product_id=2081461446&Page=1 but I remember the last time I tried shoes on at Forever 21 the 8 was too small and the 9 too big. :/ Those were just cheap pumps so many I should try again…how well do their shoes hold up for you?
Don’t worry. I will get some outfit pics up soon!
Those are so cute!! I have mixed luck with shoes from Forever21. Some have been really good and others have been awful. So I never want to buy them online. Which sucks because all the cute ones are only online!
I got these in black suede.
