ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick Swatches & First Impressions Video

Recently ColourPop launched a new line of matte liquid lipsticks. This collection contains twenty-five shades that range from pale pinks and nudes to bold corals and dark reds. Twenty-four of the twenty-five shades are also vegan. The ColourPop Ultra Matte launch was insane! So many people wanted to get their hands on these cruelty free liquid lipsticks, and they sold out extremely quickly. Thankfully, I was able to snag the majority of the vegan shades.

Watch the video to see swatches, watch me apply them, and hear my first impressions of each shade and the ColourPop Ultra Matte collection as a whole.

Please note that ColourPop currently includes the same +/- ingredient listing for all of their products. This +/- list contains animal ingredients as ingredients. I have discussed this with ColourPop and they have confirmed that the only ColourPop products that contain carmine are a couple of Super Shock Shadows and Super Shock Cheek shades, one Ultra Matte Lipstick, and a couple shades of the new liners & creme gel colors. The following Super Shock Shadows are not vegan – Tea Party, Bae, Mittens, Lace, Lovey Dovey, Hunger, and Bubbly. The following Super Shock Cheek shades are not vegan – Thumper, Birthday Suit, Fox, HighlyWaisted, Hippo, Most Necessary, Sticky Sweet, Tasty, Teasecake, and Wisp. The following Ultra Matte Lipsticks are not vegan – Tulle. The following liners & gel colors are not vegan – Call Me, Best O, No Shame, and DTLA. All other products are vegan! They also keep an updated list of vegan options on their FAQ page. https://colourpop.com/faqs/

  1. Can I seriously just thank you for going into so much detail in your research, like genuinely I had no idea colourpop uses a general ingredients list, and I cannot stress enough how useful that information is to me. I can’t believe you went to the extent you did to find that out for us. If the vegan community didn’t have you we’d be at a serious loss, much love.

    1. Hi Asifa,

All ColourPop products list carmine in the +/- section of ingredients. The +/- means “may or may not contain”. They do this so that they can use the same ingredient list and packaging for all of their products. The shade Bad Habit does not contain carmine, but ColourPop is also great at keeping their FAQ page up to date on what’s not vegan. 🙂
