Wishpot Wishlist & Gift Registry

Like most people who love shopping, I love online wishlist services. It’s a great way to bookmark all the items that you’d love to have so that you can come back and browse when you’re about to go shopping. It’s also a great way to let friends and family know what gifts you’d love for birthdays, holidays, etc. However, not all online wishlist services are equal. I’ve signed up for several that have been incredibly disappointing in their incredibly basic services. One that I discovered over the summer and am loving is Wishpot.

It combines the basic wishlist and gift registry ideas of other wishlist sites with features of a social network. You can comment on the wishlist items of others, send messages to each other, and add other users as friends. Wishpot even has several blogs that are updated on a regular basis. There are blogs on wedding registry ideas, baby registry ideas, gift ideas, and more. I love their Fashion Finds and Indie Finds blogs the most.

Have you already signed up for Wishpot? What are your thoughts on it so far? If you haven’t signed up yet, definitely check it out. Also, make sure to add Logical Harmony on Wishpot as a friend. I’m always curious what items my readers are into at the moment.

The Best Twitter Add Ons

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

I will just get it out right now. I’m a complete Twitter addict. I check it multiple times a day. If I’m working here on Logical Harmony or just browsing the web, I have it open and running. Add me on Twitter if you don’t believe that I’m addicted. But, it’s not like I’m alone in this. Everyone I know that is involved in the web world, and even those who are casual users, have signed up at some point. The popularity of Twitter has been crazy. Anyone and everyone is on it. So, of course, there are also a lot of great add ons for it. Here’s my list of The Best Twitter Add Ons out there.

The Best Twitter Add Ons : Just Tweet It

Just Tweet It : This is a great directory for Twitter users. Anyone who runs a blog or website knows the importance that directories like this have. It helps you find others in your niche while introducing your site to new visitors as well. There are multiple categories featured and you can add yourself to as many as you like. I just added myself to their Fashion category today. By letting you search for users by category and adding yourself to some, you can find and be added by users with similar interests.

The Best Twitter Add Ons : We Follow

We Follow : This site is very similar to Just Tweet It. It’s also an online directory where you can add yourself based on your interests and/or tweet content. But, unlike Just Tweet It, you can be more detailed. I added my Twitter under the tags beautyblogger, fashionblogger, and blogger.

The Best Twitter Add Ons : My Cleenr

My Cleenr : If you’re anything like me, you hate leaving dead accounts on your list. If they aren’t going to update, then what’s the point of having them on your follow list? That’s where My Cleenr comes in handy. It combs through your follow list and sorts the users in order of the last time they tweeted, with the most recent at the bottom. Turns out, I was following people who hadn’t tweeted in a year! It also sorts out a separate list of accounts that have been suspended or deleted. Keeping your follow list nice and tidy is always a good thing, and this definitely helps.

The Best Twitter Add Ons : Friend or Follow

Friend or Follow : If you’re like me, you are completely annoyed by people who will add you on Twitter, wait for you to add them back, maybe respond to some of your tweets, and then remove you. Friend or Follow let’s you remove them back. It shows you a list of people you are following that aren’t following you back. You can also see who is following you that you aren’t following, and who your mutual followers are. Out of the 268 people that I’m following on my Twitter, 200 are mutual and the other 68 are people that I don’t expect to be added by but enjoy reading their tweets.

Are there any other Twitter addicts out there? What are your favorite Twitter Add Ons?

Shop Laundry by Urban Laundry

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

While everyone shops at large chain stores, a lot of smaller boutiques and shops get overlooked. Why should you shop at your local boutique? Not only does shopping locally help support your local economy, but it’s also always good to support the underdog. Besides, often times you are going to receive better customer service and better prices than at the larger stores. One boutique that I recently came across and was impressed with is Urban Laundry.

Located in the small college town of Corvallis, Oregon, Urban Laundry breathes some much needed fresh air into the shopping scene. In a city who rejects as many chain business as possible and encourages wearing hemp and other renewable resources, you used to be hard pressed to find a place to pick up a pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans or a Splendid tank. Thanks to Urban Laundry, and to the joy of all the students in the town, this isn’t the case anymore.

I recently had the chance to have a “sit down” over e-mail with the CEO of Urban Laundry, Cory, to learn about the ins and outs of creating and successfully running a the business.

The idea to start Urban Laundry came when the owners decided that there should be a boutique in Corvallis that catered to the college students at Oregon State University. What started as an online clothing store, quickly branched into a store front location. What is now Urban Laundry was originally two separate stores that opened it’s doors in downtown. Unfortunately, the downtown area isn’t quite as happening as one might think and they moved on to bigger and better things. With a new location right next to campus, Urban Laundry is better able to serve their customer base.

Nicole Richie for Blackbook Magazine

One of my personal style icons, Nicole Richie is on the cover of the new issue of Blackbook Magazine. Styled quite differently from her usual hippie chic look, like at the House of Harlow 1960 launch, Nicole Richie shows that her modern and funky side still exists. I love the use of very vibrant and bold colors, statement jewelry, and her bright pink lipstick. The shoot definitely looks a bit Lady Gaga inspired but Richie still pulls off the style very well.

Check out the rest of the pictures of Nicole Richie in Blackbook Magazine and let me know what you think of the shoot.

Looking for some information on great Vegas vacations?

Reader Poll : Content for 2009

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Any frequent reader of this blog has probably noticed that it’s been inactive for a much longer than usual time period. I was on vacation which, due to weather conditions and flight cancellations, turned into being a much longer vacation than was intended. While I did have a computer with me the entire time, I did not have any access to the internet and was unable to update. I’m going to work on some much needed post this weekend but, since this is my first post of 2009 here at Logical Harmony, I figured that it would be a great time to ask for some input from the readers.

What would you like to see here in the next year? More fashion? More on make up? More tutorials? More about my personal style and make up looks? Anything and everything that you want to suggest – do it!
