Logical Harmony Has Been Redesigned!

Logical Harmony Has Been Redesigned!

Welcome to the new Logical Harmony! Not only has the physical site been redesigned, but there has also been a shift in content. You can still expect the same mix of fashion, beauty, celebrity style and health posts here. It’s all the same content, just with a new twist.

A couple of months ago, I decided to make the change and go vegan. It had been 13 years since I had eaten an animal with four legs and 10 years since I had dairy products of any kind. So it really wasn’t any huge change in my eating habits and, to be honest, was a very easy change to make. I also decided that I wanted to make that change with a lot of my lifestyle factors as well – starting with my beauty products. From now on, all beauty products featured on Logical Harmony will be cruelty free and/or vegan.

Why did I decide to make this change? As I was researching vegan beauty blogs for new products to use, I had a really hard time finding a blog that I could identify with. One, which I won’t name or even visit again, even suggested that using products like deodorant was unnatural. As I state in the About page, “I’m a girl who loves her wedges, lip gloss, self tanner, and glitter nail polish. Just because I chose to buy vegan options doesn’t mean that I can’t still maintain my sense of style.” I didn’t want to have to change anything about my beauty routine but the products.

The bottom line is that I wanted to make a resource for everyone out there who wants to make better choices with the products they buy without having to give up the things that they love to use.

Logical Harmony still offer the same content on fashion, beauty, product reviews, celebrity style and lifestyle. It will just be geared in a slightly different direction. My goal is to educate my readers and show them the different options that are out there.

I’m extremely flattered to be included in this list. Just as I’m still wondering how I managed to get onto the Top 50 Fashion Bloggers list from Red Rover Style. Blogging has been a love of mine for several years and I’m still surprised when people have even heard of my blog. So being featured on a list like this? Shocking!

iFabbo SF Blogger Meet Up

This past week marked the launch of iFabbo – the International Fashion & Beauty Bloggers’ Organization. With the mission statement of, “We provide a platform for education, support, resources and up-to-the-minute government guidelines and rulings so members can remain informed and build their own credibility within the blogosphere.”, it is going to be a great resource for all fashion and beauty bloggers out there. Beauty Company salon hosted the event which brought together local fashion bloggers, beauty bloggers, and local business representatives for a fun night of wine, food, and networking.

Pictured above are iFabbo founders Sinead Norenius and Tonia Korakis with myself and my bff, Sam. Sinead and Tonia also work together on skin care company Beautisol and Sinead runs the blog that every tanning fanatic loves – Self Tanning Queen.

iFabbo SF Blogger Meet Up

Local business owners had booths set up and were available to talk to bloggers about their brands and products. It’s always great to learn more from someone who is a part of the brand rather than reading it from a phamplet! Pictured above is Shaina Haller from Stella and Dot. She was discussing the products with Meghan and Andrea of Wit & Wimsy.

Other businesses present at the event were Beautisol, OWN Skin Care, Alterna Hair Care, Christine Guibara Jewelry, Quote Couture and Bittersweet Cafe. Snacks were provided by the totally addicting Pretzel Crisps. Aside from Meghan and Andrea of Wit & Wimsy, I also spent time chatting with Sarah of The Makeup Snob. Also present was Kat from My Life as an Esthetician, Bay Area Fashionista, Hello Beauty, SF Indie Fashion, Beauty or Bust and more.

iFabbo SF Blogger Meet Up

Sinead Norenius and Tonia Korakis founded both iFabbo and Beautisol. Not only are these ladies both totally career savvy and driven individuals, but they are also both incredibly sweet and amazing hosts. With iFabbo in their hands, I have no doubt that it’s going to quickly take off and become a great resource for fashion bloggers, beauty bloggers, and business owners.

iFabbo SF Blogger Meet Up

We were all sent home with very generous gift bags from the Beauty Company salon and the business sponsors. This means tons of great goodies to try out and review for the blog!

I can honestly say that the iFabbo SF Blogger Meet Up was one of the best events that I have ever had the pleasure of being invited to. It created a great atmosphere to chat with both bloggers and business representatives. I really look forward to seeing the future of iFabbo and watching the network grow and expand.

Check out iFabbo on Facebook and Twitter.

Friend Friday May 28, 2010

Friend Friday May 28, 2010

Through Twitter, I recently found out about Friend Friday on the fashion blog Modly Chic. I used to be a huge Friday Five addict back in the day. I love that Modly Chic is offering a fashion and beauty related version! Here are my answers for Friend Friday.

1. What are the three products you couldn’t live without?
Concealer, blush and eyeliner. Those three are my absolute essentials. No matter what, they are all I need to get out the door in a matter of minutes and still look decent. I love versions of all three by CoverGirl. Their stick concealear, cheekers blush, and Outlast eyeliner are three items I always keep in my make up bag. I also love Benefit Cosmetics’ concealers (both Boi-ing and Erase Paste) as well as their Thrrrob blush.

2. 2. Which products do you never leave home without?
Lip gloss, a 3-in-1 compact, lip balm, and eyeliner. I learned the hard way to never keep expensive make up in my purse, so I buy a set of cheap stuff to keep there. I love E.L.F.’s minty lip gloss (it’s great quality, especially for a buck!), my CoverGirl 3-in-1 compact, Softlips chapstick, and a spare CoverGirl Outlast eyeliner. I also always have hand sanitizer around. You never know when you’re going to need it! Oh, and, being honest here, at least 4 pairs of sunglasses. In the winter I also carry a pair of fingerless gloves in my purse.

3. 3. When purchasing what is your one big beauty weakness?
Lip gloss! I have a ridiculous amount and am always on the look out for new kinds to try. From low end to high, I just can’t get enough of the stuff. I love love love Nars’ lip gloss, but definitely cannot justify the cost on more than c ouple of shades. Orgasm (a peachy pink) and Easy Lover (sheer hot pink) are my two all time favorites. But I also have everything from E.L.F. to CoverGirl to Victoria’s Secret gloss around. I consider it a cheap splurge. If I can spend under $5 on a new lip gloss and have it make my day, then it’s worth it.

4. Do you have a secret remedy, concoction, family tradition that you use?
I’ve talked about it a lot on here already but, olive oil. Warmed up and in my hair as a deep conditioner or mixed with honey and oatmeal for a face mask. I take several vitamins every day and I love that olive oil is like a vitamin for my hair and skin. I love the stuff.

5. When it comes to your face, what area do you usually try to accentuate?
My eyes. I love that I have green eyes and naturally have a good arch on my eyebrows. I’m lucky enough to only have to pluck a few strays and not have to do much at all in the way of shaping. This is why I love my eyeliner and using highlighter under my brows.

Wishpot Wishlist & Gift Registry

Wishpot Wishlist & Gift Registry

Like most people who love shopping, I love online wishlist services. It’s a great way to bookmark all the items that you’d love to have so that you can come back and browse when you’re about to go shopping. It’s also a great way to let friends and family know what gifts you’d love for birthdays, holidays, etc. However, not all online wishlist services are equal. I’ve signed up for several that have been incredibly disappointing in their incredibly basic services. One that I discovered over the summer and am loving is Wishpot.

It combines the basic wishlist and gift registry ideas of other wishlist sites with features of a social network. You can comment on the wishlist items of others, send messages to each other, and add other users as friends. Wishpot even has several blogs that are updated on a regular basis. There are blogs on wedding registry ideas, baby registry ideas, gift ideas, and more. I love their Fashion Finds and Indie Finds blogs the most.

Have you already signed up for Wishpot? What are your thoughts on it so far? If you haven’t signed up yet, definitely check it out. Also, make sure to add Logical Harmony on Wishpot as a friend. I’m always curious what items my readers are into at the moment.

The Best Twitter Add Ons

I will just get it out right now. I’m a complete Twitter addict. I check it multiple times a day. If I’m working here on Logical Harmony or just browsing the web, I have it open and running. Add me on Twitter if you don’t believe that I’m addicted. But, it’s not like I’m alone in this. Everyone I know that is involved in the web world, and even those who are casual users, have signed up at some point. The popularity of Twitter has been crazy. Anyone and everyone is on it. So, of course, there are also a lot of great add ons for it. Here’s my list of The Best Twitter Add Ons out there.

The Best Twitter Add Ons : Just Tweet It

Just Tweet It : This is a great directory for Twitter users. Anyone who runs a blog or website knows the importance that directories like this have. It helps you find others in your niche while introducing your site to new visitors as well. There are multiple categories featured and you can add yourself to as many as you like. I just added myself to their Fashion category today. By letting you search for users by category and adding yourself to some, you can find and be added by users with similar interests.

The Best Twitter Add Ons : We Follow

We Follow : This site is very similar to Just Tweet It. It’s also an online directory where you can add yourself based on your interests and/or tweet content. But, unlike Just Tweet It, you can be more detailed. I added my Twitter under the tags beautyblogger, fashionblogger, and blogger.

The Best Twitter Add Ons : My Cleenr

My Cleenr : If you’re anything like me, you hate leaving dead accounts on your list. If they aren’t going to update, then what’s the point of having them on your follow list? That’s where My Cleenr comes in handy. It combs through your follow list and sorts the users in order of the last time they tweeted, with the most recent at the bottom. Turns out, I was following people who hadn’t tweeted in a year! It also sorts out a separate list of accounts that have been suspended or deleted. Keeping your follow list nice and tidy is always a good thing, and this definitely helps.

The Best Twitter Add Ons : Friend or Follow

Friend or Follow : If you’re like me, you are completely annoyed by people who will add you on Twitter, wait for you to add them back, maybe respond to some of your tweets, and then remove you. Friend or Follow let’s you remove them back. It shows you a list of people you are following that aren’t following you back. You can also see who is following you that you aren’t following, and who your mutual followers are. Out of the 268 people that I’m following on my Twitter, 200 are mutual and the other 68 are people that I don’t expect to be added by but enjoy reading their tweets.

Are there any other Twitter addicts out there? What are your favorite Twitter Add Ons?
