Score Some Sweet Deals at Marshall’s Shoe Mega Shop

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Score Some Sweet Deals at Marshall's Shoe Mega Shop Since the holiday season is in full swing and, this year more than most, finding presents on a budget is more important, I decided to head to one of my favorite places to score some amazing items at great prices - Marshall’s. Marshall’s is similar to stores like Ross in that it carries name brand items for much lower prices that you’ll find elsewhere. However, unlike Ross, you can usually find a lot nicer and higher quality name brand items.

What actually drew me to the store was my love of shoes. I was doing some browsing online and found out that a location near me has a Shoe Mega Shop. These departments are bigger (and better) than the shoe departments in other Marshall’s stores. They carry a wider variety of styles and brands and I was completely overwhelmed by the selection once I arrived at the store. They had everything! Flat boots, heeled boots, fringe boots, oxford booties, flats, skate shoes, running shoes, moccasins, loafers, classic pumps, stiletto heels… Converse, Steve Madden, Roxy, Ugg, Bearpaw, Michael Kors, Coach… It was full of the hottest trends and high quality brands. Even the clearance racks had an amazing selection of really cute shoes. For a shoe lover who also loves bargains, it was an awesome place to be.

The Charmed Life : The Cutest Charm Bracelets

The Charmed Life : The Cutest Charm Bracelets

We all had one as a child. A charm bracelet seemed so sophisticated and adult in our early years. The idea of a piece of jewelry that you could add to and customize as you grew and matured seemed too good to be true. Now, the timeless classic is being given a new life.

My latest post on Sparkle Shelf focuses just on charm bracelets and the different styles that are available. Personally, I love my Juicy Couture starter charm bracelet and all the different Juicy Couture charms that are available. But that doesn’t mean that I’m not a complete sucker for some of the funkier and less traditional bracelets out there. Check out the post The Charmed Life : The Cutest Charm Bracelets and let me know your take on charm bracelets.

Zac Posen Spring 2009 Ready To Wear Collection

Zac Posen Spring 2009 Ready To Wear Collection

One of my favorite designers out there is Zac Posen. I’ve always admired his work but, after seeing his Fall 2008 Ready To Wear Collection it was complete love. Not to mention that I’ll never not be bitter about Posen designing for Target in Australia by having to miss out on it here in the States. Posen grew up in New York, joined the Parsons The New School for Design and was mentored by curator Richard Martin at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. His influences and eye for design show in his pieces.

Featured in this post are my 10 favorite pieces from the Zac Posen Spring 2009 Ready To Wear Collection. I loved his use of black lace (it’s too bad that Holly Madison didn’t enlist his wardrobe help), leopard print, textures, unique hemlines and layers. Enjoy!!!

Black Lace : The It Fabric For Fall

One of the hottest trends this fall is black lace. It showed up all over the runways when the Fall collections were showcased and is now showing up in store windows and displays as well. Don’t worry - this isn’t your Grandmothers version of lace! It’s much edgier and classic this year. Designers from Marc Jacobs to Chanel to Nanette Lepore are showcasing it, and it’s showing up everywhere from Urban Outfitters to Forever 21. To see some of the best black lace pieces out there this season, and some of the cutest ways to wear it, check out my post on Sparkle Shelf, Black Lace : The It Fabric For Fall.
