6 Beauty Products I Want To Try In 2009

With how fast cosmetics companies seem to be releasing new products, there are always items out there that I want to try. Everything from the newest fad to an old classic that somehow isn’t already in my bathroom cabinet. I decided to pick out 6 Beauty Products I Want To Try In 2009. Not only do I want to try new products, but I will hopefully learn some new tricks of the trade. These are the products that I have heard the most buzz about recently and would like to see what all the fuss is about.

CoverGirl Lash Blast Luxe Mascara 1. CoverGirl Lash Blast Luxe Mascara : While I’ve read some very unflattering things about CoverGirls other new mascara, Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Mascara, I’ve heard nothing but great reviews about this mascara. I first tried the original Lash Blast mascara a year ago and have been hooked ever since. In fact, I actually much prefer Lash Blast to Dior’s Diorshow. The difference between regular Lash Blast mascara and Lash Blast Luxe is that the Luxe version comes in four different shades of black to help give your lashes a little extra pop. Since I have green eyes and purple really makes the color stand out, I want to try the Black Cabernet shade. Others available are Black Platinum, Black Royale, and Black Emerald. You can purchase Lash Blast Luxe Mascara online or at your local drugstore.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin 2. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin : One beauty product that I absolutely cannot live without is Urban Decay’s famous Eyeshadow Primer Potion (UDPP). While the regular Eyeshadow Primer Potion is a nude shade that blends easily into your skin, this new version is a shimmering champagne color. You could wear it alone for a natural look, or wear it under any shade of eyeshadow to create a different effect. Sephora also recommends using it as a highlighter by applying it from your lashline to your crease, but applying shadow only to your lid. The Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin is a Sephora exclusive.

Benefit Powderflage Concealer 3. Benefit Powderflage Concealer : So far I’ve tried two concealers from Benefit, the infamous Boi-ing and Erase Paste (which was one of my favorite products of 2008), and have found them both to be the best concealers I’ve ever tried. Which is why I really want to try Powderflage. What intrigues me the most about this product is that it’s a powder concealer. I’ve always been wary of powder concealers and how much coverage they really provide, so I’ve never tried one before. Powderflage can be worn alone or over another cream concealer for extra coverage. You can pick up Powderflage online or at Sephora. You can also pick up both Boi-ing and Erase Paste online.

4. Smashbox O-Gloss : I’m really curious about this gloss because it claims to react with your skin chemistry and create a shade of pink that’s custom to your skin. I’ve heard mixed reviews about this claim and that is why I want to try it out for myself. It’s seems like it’s a love it or hate it product, and I’m always the most curious about those. I’m also curious to see how it’s ingredients, which include the unique Goji Berry-C Complex, ginkgo biloba, pomegranate seed antioxidants, and avocado oil. You can pick up Smashbox O-Gloss at Sephora.

L'Oreal HIP Color Rich Cream Eyeliner 5. L’Oreal HIP Color Rich Cream Eyeliner : For me, eye liner is a product that I cannot live without. There’s just something about a little bit of the stuff that can turn a look from blah into great, or make you look instantly put together with minimal products. Any girl who’s tried eyeliner knows what I mean when I say that once you start using it, you cannot go back. While I typically use pencil liner (my favorite is CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear Liner) or liquid liner, I’ve never tried cream liner before. I’ve heard that the formula is identical to MAC’s fluidline, which I’ve heard amazing things about. While I admit that the idea of using a brush to line my eyes makes me a bit uneasy (I don’t always have the steadiest of hands and fear I will end up with wonky looking eye like Paris Hilton), I think that being able to get the technique down will make me that much better at overall make up application. That’s a skill that I think everyone, no matter how experienced, constantly needs to work on and improve. You can pick up L’Oreal HIP Color Rich Cream Eyeliner in your local drugstore.

Psssssst Instant Spray Shampoo 6. Psssssst Instant Spray Shampoo : Time and time again I have heard that everyone should have dry shampoo on hand and that washing your hair every day strips it of natural oils. You too have probably heard both several times as well. I’ve also heard that dry shampoo is a great product to use when you want to add more volume to your hair. This year, I’ve decided that it’s about time I try this classic beauty staple. While there are dry shampoos in all prices ranges. I’ve heard that Ojon Rub-Out Dry Cleanser To Go is one of the best higher end dry shampoos. When looking for cheaper options, I kept hearing great things about Psssssst Instant Spray Shampoo. Apparently it works just as well, if not better, than the more expensive stuff and is only around $6 a can. You can pick up Psssssst Instant Spray Shampoo at your local drugstore.

  1. this is such a cute idea!!! i may have to bite your blog, do you mind?

  2. I use mineral foundation and spot it on and it gives amazing coverage. I’d guess powder concealer is no different.

I did a review on SS of the Cake hair and body powder, and I really do like it. It’s probably healthier than spraying Aqua Net on my head and brushing it out as I’d done in the past! I hate washing my hair daily, so be sure to try this one and post a review. If nothing else, dry shampoo is great for vacays.

  3. If you liked BeneFit’s Boi-ing, I would recommend Bobbi Brown’s cream concealer. I really used to dig Boi-ing, but it seems they’ve changed the formula and it doesn’t stay on as long or as well on my undereye skin as it used to. Bobbi Brown’s cream concealer works for covering up blemishes as well, and not only helps to hide my dark circles (they’re never going to be completely gone, it’s something I’ve accepted), it brightens up my entire eye area!
